Prior to starting the course we were to create a 120x120mm square in which we created a design which showed off what we prefer in the area of graphics. I immediately wanted to show how I like to include a meaning with my work as well as using fine art aspects of my style within the design. I had previously painted the 'joker' on my face and this was the inspiration for me to take this into photoshop and increase the meaning and symbolism rather than just relating it to a film but rather shocking the people who viewed the poster. I really enjoy underlining meaning to my work and I felt that by creating a different meaning to a character that most people know it will grab and seek the attention of the audience. "Everyone has a dark side." refers to the idea of London watching us all through the city's cameras they use with the excuse of "security". I think that many people have a dark side to them and this includes the people behind London's cameras. My poster is trying to make people more aware of not only the dangers of London and the people around them but the cameras that are put in place for their well-being and safety.
